How many half-empty bottles of skincare products do you have in your bathroom cupboard right now? If you’re anything like most people, there are probably quite a few! It’s a common story: someone buys a skincare cream that promises incredible “rejuvenating effects” or “magical skin transformation” (only to be disappointed when it doesn’t deliver the results promised). That’s completely understandable, the marketing strength that’s put into flashy skincare products is fantastic. The problem is that, most of the time, the marketing is better than the products themselves.
This was certainly the case when Dr. Patrick Flaharty started out in plastic surgery twenty years ago. The market was littered with skincare products, of varying quality and effectiveness. For Dr. Flaharty, the truth was that none of them were great. As he gained more and more experience as a facial plastic surgeon, he realized that most of these products especially fell short when it came to use after having a facial rejuvenation treatment. So, Dr. Flaharty started on a quest to find skincare products that did exactly what was needed, providing rejuvenating and anti-aging effects while also being gentle enough to use after facial surgery. Thankfully, he had a remarkable ally on this journey: his wife Dr. Kristen Flaharty. Being a seasoned pharmacist and pharmaceutical product development professional, she was also frustrated with the state of affairs of the skincare product market. There were endless products being sold that promised results simply not backed up by science. So, the solution to their problem? To make their own skincare products, of course!
Over many years, Dr. Patrick Flaharty had built Azul into a trusted cosmetic surgery name. With Dr. Kristen Flaharty’s pharmaceutical experience, they knew they could create state-of-the-art, science-based Azul skincare products that would not just deliver on expectations, but exceed them. Together, they started a boutique skincare manufacturing company and named it Trilogy Laboratories, after their three daughters. It was here that the Drs.
